Educational Visits

We arrange educational visits to places of interest to support the curriculum; giving your child the opportunity to experience situations we are unable to give them in school.

Some of the recent educational visits have included a visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Fountains Abbey.

We ask for voluntary contributions to cover some of the cost of these trips. If you feel unable to pay the full contribution please send in as much as you are able to afford or pay a little each week.

Any such request makes it clear that there is no obligation to contribute and that a parent’s inability or unwillingness to pay would not prevent a child from taking part. However, if insufficient voluntary contributions are offered, a particular activity might have to be cancelled.

In addition to visits out of school, we also encourage visitors into school to come to share their experiences, knowledge and skills.

Themed days & weeks

We also have special themed days or weeks to enable children to focus fully on the topic being studied, for example, to launch a topic on the Victorians, children and staff came into school dressed as Victorians.
