General Information
Learning in EYFS
In our school we follow the EYFS curriculum. This emphasises the need for children to learn in an active way through play and practical activities, both inside and outdoors.
The 7 areas of learning within the Foundation Stage are:
- Communication and Language (CL)
- Physical Development (PD)
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
- Literacy (L)
- Mathematics (M)
- Expressive Art and Design (EAD)
- Understanding the World (UW)
These areas are covered by:
- a daily phonics session
- a daily maths session
- daily song and story time
- weekly topic activities
- weekly circle time, linked to Jigsaw
- Forest School
- additional outdoor learning opportunities.

P.E.
Our P.E. day is on Friday. Please ensure that your child has a labelled P.E. kit with them in school on these days. P.E. kits will be sent home at the end of every half term for washing.
Evidence Me
We would love for you to be involved in our learning. Our class page will be updated regularly as well as sharing observations via the EvidenceMe app. If you experience any difficulties with accessing the app, please speak to me directly or a member of the admin team.
Reading
Once the children have been allocated a reading book and reading record we will endeavour to read 1:1 with your child once a week (in addition to daily whole-class reading). Please also make use of the wonderful online texts via Bug Club.
