General Information
Learning in EYFS
In our school we follow the EYFS curriculum. This emphasises the need for children to learn in an active way through play and practical activities, both inside and outdoors.
The 7 areas of learning within the Foundation Stage are:
- Communication and Language (CL)
- Physical Development (PD)
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
- Literacy (L)
- Mathematics (M)
- Expressive Art and Design (EAD)
- Understanding the World (UW)
These areas are covered by:
- a daily phonics session
- a daily maths session
- daily song and story time
- weekly topic activities
- weekly circle time, linked to Jigsaw
- Forest School
- additional outdoor learning opportunities.

Class Information
P.E.
Our P.E. day is on Friday. Please ensure that your child has a labelled P.E. kit with them in school on these days. P.E. kits will be sent home at the end of every half term for washing.
Reading
Once the children have been allocated a reading book and reading record we will endeavour to read 1:1 with your child once a week as a minimum. Please also make use of the wonderful online texts via Collins Big Cat E-Book Library (for which you will receive a log-in).
