Teaching Assistant:

Message to Parents and Carers.
Here is some information on how you can help support your child at school and at home. As always, there is no pressure to do any extra activities at home, however some ideas of quick, easy and fun things to do are detailed below.
Pictures are uploaded to instagram weekly, sharing the wonderful learning and fun we have in our class! Make sure to look!
Your child has a reading record and book suited to their current reading stage. This will be checked regularly to enable them to move up a level when appropriate. We aim to read with your child at-least once a week. Please bring in your child’s reading book and planner every day so we can change their book if needed or read with them. Often the children forget they need a new book so please encourage them to let us know if it needs changing! If you are ever able to spare some time to listen to our class read please let us know! Every time your child reads with you, please ensure their reading record is signed.
This half term (Spring 2) we will be finishing off our unit on money and will be exploring measurement. This will include: length, height, volume and capacity.
The maths curriculum page shows you what we will be covering this year in case your child would like to start looking at concepts at home or with a tutor.

Maths
TTRS (Times table rock stars) practice is a fun way that children can practice their times tables at home. Each child has a sticker inside their planner with their personal log in details. Please speak to Miss Mogg if you need a new copy of these details. Hit the button is also a great way to practice concepts like halving, doubling and number bonds.
When you read with your child at home, please write a comment to that effect (or just your initials) in the school planner. Please try and read with your child each day, even if it’s only a couple of pages or for a few minutes, every little helps. We will aim to read with your child at least once a week in school. If your child needs a new book during the week, they can put their book and planner in the 'change my book box' which is located outside of the classroom ready for it to be changed.
Below are some exciting websites where you can practise your writing and maths skills.
